About Tessa

My story

It took leaving London to understand what I was looking for.

I grew up in London, where my journey with movement began through a regular yoga practice — an Ashtanga practice in Brighton, taught by Russell Case, which everything since has built on. Travelling in India widened that practice into something richer, shaped by different styles and teachers, and I saw how many different forms movement could take.
Along the way, I saw how deeply our physical health shapes everything else — how we think, feel, and show up in the world. That curiosity led me to study massage at St Mary’s University, drawn by how much the body holds that the mind never quite gets to.
Years later, living on a permaculture community in Uruguay, I trained in Animal Flow and taught weekly community classes, while my massage practice deepened alongside the rhythms of a much simpler life. I’ve since returned to London, where Tessana brings all of that together — and where I began offering online coaching, which supports people not just physically, but in how they process and express what’s going on inside.

My approach

Change doesn’t come from more thinking.

I believe the body and mind are never really separate — how we move, breathe, and hold ourselves physically is deeply connected to how we think, feel, and process life. That’s the thread running through everything I offer.
So much of what keeps us stuck, anxious, or disconnected lives beneath the level of story and analysis, in patterns the body has been holding onto quietly, sometimes for years. My work is about closing that gap: between what you know intellectually and what you actually feel, between the story you tell about your life and the reality underneath it.
I’m not here to fix people. I’m here to give them tools they can use to help themselves, long after our session or class ends.
My work draws from many traditions I’ve lived and learned, not just studied. Yoga and Animal Flow build strength, flexibility, and body awareness in a way that feels playful, not clinical — I like to bring an upbeat, grounded energy to every class. Massage, including Ancient Head Massage, Spinal Nerve Treatment and Bowen Therapy, works more directly with the body to release what’s stored there.
And for those ready to explore what’s beneath the physical, my online coaching works with felt sense — a way of listening to the body to understand what’s happening beneath the surface. It’s less a departure from the physical work and more an extension of it: the same body awareness, applied to what we’re carrying inside.
Whether we’re moving together in a class, working one-to-one in a massage session, or talking things through online, my approach is the same: give people the tools to reconnect with themselves.

A little more about me

Practising what I teach.

I moved back to London to be with my mum and brothers — my daughter has always been with me, and being close to the rest of my family was what pulled me back here.
Outside of teaching and the treatment room, I’m usually moving in some form — dancing, cycling, walking, or running.
I meditate every day, which keeps me honest about practising what I teach, and grounded in the same practice I bring to everyone I work with.
Every day, in small ways, that’s really what it comes down to — starting that change with yourself.
